Artist Statement:

In my latest body of work, Inspired by the symbol of the Eye originating from the Ancient Egyptian symbol of the Eye of Horus and the fact that one eye is replaced by the all-seeing eye also implies that he is about to lose a whole lot sight … and freedom. As we often see this symbol is also already used all around mass media. The Eye of Horus is one of the most important symbols of the Freemasons, OTO, the “keepers of real magic”. Addressing these times of vigilance and voyeurism of hidden cameras and video surveillance that have become all round accepted in our society, creating awareness of this invasion of privacy for our own perverted need to know and watch all. In the name of safety and control and fed by the media turning imagery has changed into entertainment and pleasure.

By carefully selecting hundreds of photographic images by color and theme I try to take Neo-pointillism to the next level exploring the dialogue of narrative tropes in an image soaked in contemporary environment and collective unconscious. With a magical plethora of images I depict, stories, momentous, personal experiences and cinematographic scenes encapsulated in crystal spheres together forming the larger compositions and portraits reflecting an idealized world filtered through the demands of the eye of the beholder.

“Come in close. Closer. Because the more you think you see, the easier it’ll be to fool you. Because what is seeing? You’re looking, but what you’re really doing is filtering, interpreting, searching for meaning. My job? To take that most of gifts you give me, your attention, and use it against you.”
